Ferro Silicon

Ferro Silicon is a widely used alloy in steel casting and manufacturing. It acts as a deoxidizing and reducing agent, especially in the production of low-carbon alloys, depending on the specific process requirements.

Ferro Silicon

Ferro Silicon (FeSi) is a highly power-intensive product, requiring nearly three times more electricity compared to Silico Manganese (SiMn) and Ferro Manganese (FeMn). Consequently, electricity costs account for the largest share of FeSi production—around 65% of the total cost. For instance, a 9MVA furnace that can produce about 16,500 MT of SiMn and 20,000 MT of FeMn annually, yields only around 7,200 MT of FeSi. This is why, despite being India’s largest producer of Ferro Silicon, FeSi contributes just 15% to our overall production mix.
